How a password-protected client gallery works in Pixiproof

How a password-protected client gallery works in Pixiproof
Features·13 October 2026·5 min read

Facts as of October 13, 2026.

Yes. In Pixiproof you can set a password when you create a client gallery, and then only people who know it can see the photos [3]. The password is optional: you can also share a gallery with just the link [5][6]. Your client opens the gallery with the link (and the password, if you set one), in any modern browser, with nothing to install [1]. While they look, they see previews rather than full-resolution originals, and you deliver the full files when you are ready [1][6].

Setting up a password-protected gallery

  1. Create an account [5].
  2. Create a gallery: add a name, set a password if you want one, and choose a plan. The help center marks the password step as optional [5].
  3. Upload your photos [5]. Video can go in the same password-protected gallery [4].
  4. Publish the gallery. You pay for it based on size, and the first gallery up to 1 GB is free, no card required [3][5].
  5. Send your client the gallery link. They can browse and select photos [5].
  6. Edit the selected photos and deliver the final files [5].

What your client needs and sees

Clients need the gallery link, plus the password if you set one [1][6]. Nothing to install: the gallery works in any modern browser on a phone or a desktop [1].

Inside, clients see previews sized for their screen. They do not get full-resolution print files straight away [3][6].

Who can open the gallery

When a gallery has a password, only people who know it can see the photos [3]. The security page says you can share with a password or a link, and that you control access [6]. The home page lists passwords and PINs among the delivery features [1]. If you share by link only, anyone with the full link can open the gallery, so send it only to the right client.

If you use passwords, each gallery on your account needs its own [3]. You cannot reuse the same gallery password across two galleries on one account, which Pixiproof says reduces mistakes and accidental access sharing between clients [3]. Passwords are not stored in plain text [3]. You can change the password at any time or delete the whole gallery [3].

For choosing a password a client can type on a phone, and for sending it separately from the link, see our guide one password per gallery.

Previews, watermark and downloads

The home page puts it this way: "originals that stay locked until you deliver" [1]. You control what clients can download and when: previews during selection, full-resolution finals after you deliver [1]. Finals download at full resolution [1].

A watermark is optional. You can turn on a subtle mark on in-browser previews when you need one [6]. Pixiproof also makes it harder to save a photo from the browser menu [3][6].

How long the gallery stays online

A gallery expires after the period you choose: 1 month, 3 months or 12 months [3]. Before it expires, you get an email with an option to extend it [3].

What a password does not do

A password decides who can open the gallery. It does not stop someone who has it from passing it on, so treat the link and the password as a pair that belongs to one client.

It also does not make previews impossible to copy. Pixiproof says plainly that no solution eliminates every copy path on the internet, and that it focuses on practical everyday friction [3]. If screenshots worry you, read what screenshot protection can and can't do.

  • Pixiproof charges 0% commission on your sales [1]. See client gallery with no commission.
  • Pixiproof does not import galleries from other platforms. You re-upload your files [1]. Leaving Pass? Our Pass page lists the dates Pass has published.
