How to suggest photos to your client in PixiProof

A wedding gallery with several hundred frames asks a lot of a couple. Many of the photos are close variations, and the client has to decide alone which one of five near-identical portraits belongs in the album. Photographer suggestions let you mark the frames you would choose, so the client starts from your shortlist instead of a blank grid. This guide shows how to set them in PixiProof and what the client sees.
Before you start
Suggestions are part of a gallery where the client selects photos. When you create a gallery, the wizard asks for the Gallery type, and suggestions belong to the Client selects photos option, not Deliver a finished gallery.
Mark suggested photos
- Open the gallery in the dashboard and click Suggest photos in the gallery navigation. The window Suggest photos to the client opens.
- Mark the frames you recommend. Each marked photo is added to the photographer suggestions. Click it again to remove it.
- Use the All and Suggested filters to review your shortlist. Reduce visual noise dims non-suggested photos so suggested ones stand out.
- Changes save automatically. The footer shows how many items are suggested. Click OK when you are done.
You can also mark a single photo while viewing it, with Mark as suggested for the client, and undo it with Remove from suggestions. In the gallery overview, Suggested: N tells you how many photos are on the list.
The window only lists originals that have not been delivered yet.
What the client sees
- A message in the gallery: "Your photographer marked N photos — tap to view suggested picks."
- A Suggested (N) filter next to All and Selected (N), so the client can look at your shortlist alone.
- A Suggested by your photographer mark on each suggested photo.
The client still decides. A suggestion does not select the photo for them. If they deselect a suggested photo, your suggestions stay unchanged. After the selection is approved, a suggested photo that the client did not choose is marked Suggested — not in your order.
What suggestions do not do
- They do not add photos to the order. Only the client's own selection counts.
- They are not automatic. PixiProof does not pick photos for you. You mark each one yourself.
- They are not an offer. Suggestions don't change prices. If you want to offer extra photos when the client confirms, that is a separate setting, the selection upsell.
How many to suggest
There is no rule in the product, so treat it as an editorial choice. A shortlist close to the number of photos in the client's package gives them a complete starting point. A few extra suggestions above that show where adding photos would make sense.
